Electrolysis FAQs

Does the treatment hurt?

Everyone’s pain level is different, areas such as the lip can be very sensitive. Your practitioner can advise on numbing cream to help make the treatment more comfortable.

Is electrolysis permanent?

Electrolysis is said to be the only permanent form of hair removal. Dormant hairs may become active due to stress levels, hormones or medications, these would require further treatment.

How many sessions will I need?

The total number of sessions needed to remove the hair permanently from an area will vary from person to person. On average it can take up to 12 months to complete, however the duration could range from 8 months to 2 years in certain cases.

Will Electrolysis get rid of White/Grey hairs?

Electrolysis will treat any colour hair, so the white, grey, blonde and red hairs that cannot be targeted by laser hair removal can be successfully treated with electrolysis.

What are the downsides of Electrolysis?

It is time consuming, individual hairs must be treated in every session. So if there is a lot of hairs they will not be cleared every session, but will lessen over a period of time. You have to be committed to get results.
