What to expect with Ultrasound Liposuction Treatment

Ultrasound Liposuction treatment does not require any special pre-treatment. It begins with measurement of the target body area, and then gentle circular movements of the applicator are used over the treatment area. The treatment is completed with another circumference measurement. The length of treatment sessions can vary from 15 to 40 minutes, depending on the size of the area and the thickness of the fat layer. Six to eight sessions in total, once a week are recommended in order to achieve a noticeable result, but further treatments may be needed to attain your desired silhouette.

What Body Areas Are Treated with Ultrasound Liposuction?

Ultrasound Liposuction is an effective treatment for many areas of the body, including:

  • Abdomen (‘love handles’)
  • Thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Inner knees

How does Ultrasound Cavitation Liposuction Work?

Cavitation is a natural phenomenon based on low frequency ultrasound. The ultrasound field creates bubbles in the liquid fat, which gradually grow and implode at certain size. As the membranes of fat cells do not have the structural capacity to withstand the vibrations the effect of cavitation easily breaks them, whilst sparing the vascular, nervous and muscular tissue.

Ultrasound Liposuction treatment does not require anaesthesia. Most clients consider the procedure to be painless and comfortable. There is, however, a slight ringing noise heard in your ears as the waves spread inside your body, but it poses no harm and disappears as soon as you are not in contact with the applicator.
There is a slight possibility of mild side effects such as transient redness, excessive thirst, and nausea immediately after the treatment, which always resolved by drinking water. These are all short-term effects that disappear in a few hours to a few days.

Even though studies have proven the treatment safe, the cavitation is not be used in clients with an acute illness, comprised liver function, severe bleeding tendencies, pace makers, or during pregnancy.
